Daytona Manuka Oak Herringbone is a commercial-grade, oak-effect luxury vinyl floor in the warm honey shade most people picture when they say "oak floor". Each block measures 114 x 457mm, glues down for a permanent finish and carries a 0.55mm wear layer, the grade specified for shops and offices.

Why Daytona

• A 0.55mm wear layer. Most vinyl sold for the home carries 0.30mm. Daytona carries 0.55mm, which is 83% thicker, on every colour and both formats. That clear layer is the only part your shoes, chair legs and pets ever touch.
• The colour sits under the wear layer. The oak effect is printed beneath the clear layer, not on top of it. With a stronger protective layer, the colour remains looking like it did on day one.
• Micro-bevelled on all four sides. Every block has a fine bevel on each edge and a grain embossed into the surface, so a herringbone lays with the definition of real parquet.
• Guaranteed at home and at work. A 25 year residential guarantee and a 10 year commercial guarantee, on a floor rated Class 33 for heavy commercial use.
• Glue down, because it stays down. Bonded directly to the subfloor, with no click joint, no expansion gap at the skirting and no hollow sound underfoot. Suitable over underfloor heating up to a surface temperature of 27°C.

Coverage and ordering

Each pack covers 2.926 m² and contains 56 blocks. Lay it at 90 degrees for a classic herringbone, or in double herringbone, basket weave or brick bond. Allow 10% extra on your measured area for cutting. Manuka Oak also comes as a 178 x 1219mm plank, in exactly the same shade and specification.

Fitting

Let the packs acclimatise in the room for 24 hours. The subfloor must be smooth, dry and level; a latex screed over timber or uneven concrete is normal, and new screeds should be checked for moisture. Use a high-temperature dispersion adhesive made for luxury vinyl, which covers 3 to 3.5 m² per kg, with the trowel its maker recommends. Set out from the centre of the room, mix blocks from three packs as you go, roll with a 50kg roller within 30 minutes of laying and keep foot traffic off for 24 hours.

Care

Vacuum or sweep, then damp-mop with a neutral cleaner. No steam mops, no abrasive pads, no bleach. Felt pads under furniture. That is all it needs.
