Glue down LVT needs a smooth, flat subfloor and is best fitted by a professional. In return it sits thinner, feels more solid, gives a flush finish with no click joints, suits herringbone and borders, works well over underfloor heating and stands up to commercial footfall. What to buy with it

You need a suitable flooring adhesive, which typically covers 3 to 3.5 m² per kg, and a smoothing compound if the subfloor is uneven. Use an adhesive made for vinyl and suited to your subfloor. Ask a fitter to check the subfloor before you order, because the floor will show every bump and the adhesive needs a clean, dry, sound base.

Glue down LVT questions

Can I lay glue down LVT myself?

It is possible, but we recommend a professional fitter. The subfloor must be smooth, flat and dry, and adhesive work is hard to correct once the floor is down.

Can glue down LVT go over underfloor heating?

Yes. Daytona is suitable for underfloor heating. Check the adhesive is rated for it too, and follow the heating system maker's guidance on warming up and cooling down.

Is glue down LVT waterproof?

The vinyl itself is water resistant, so spills wipe away. We do not recommend it for wet rooms, and the subfloor must stay dry.

How long before I can walk on it?

This depends on the adhesive and the room conditions, so follow the open and cure times printed on the tub. Keep heavy furniture off until the adhesive has fully cured.
