Floor area
The area you are gluing, without wastage. Do not know it yet?

Which adhesive?
Both come in 6 kg and 14 kg tubs at the same price.
Not sure which? Why the right adhesive matters
Your answer
How much does one tub cover?
A rule of thumb for LVT adhesive is 3 to 3.5 m² per kg. Use the lower figure on absorbent subfloors such as screed or plywood.
| Tub | Covers about |
|---|---|
| 6 kg | 18 to 21 m² |
| 14 kg | 42 to 49 m² |
The calculator then finds the cheapest mix of tubs. A 14 kg tub costs less per kilo, so it is often cheaper to buy one 14 kg tub than three 6 kg tubs, even if a little is left over.
Getting the coverage the tub promises
Prepare the subfloor first. It should be flat, dry, clean and sound. A rough or uneven floor takes more adhesive and shows through the LVT. How to prepare a subfloor
Use the right spreader. The notch size controls how much adhesive goes down. Use the one on the tub label and replace it when the teeth wear.
Follow the open time. Each adhesive gives a window to lay the floor once it is spread. Spread only what you can cover in that time.
Common questions
How much adhesive do I need for LVT?
Divide the floor area by the coverage per kg. At 3 m² per kg, a 24 m² room needs 8 kg, which is one 14 kg tub, or two 6 kg tubs if you want less left over.
What is the coverage of LVT adhesive per kg?
About 3 to 3.5 m² per kg. Absorbent subfloors such as screed and plywood use the lower figure.
Does the subfloor change how much adhesive I need?
Yes. Absorbent subfloors soak some up, so plan on 3 m² per kg. A rough or uneven floor also takes more. Smooth and prepare it first.
Do you have to glue LVT flooring down?
Glue down LVT, yes: it is made to be stuck to the subfloor. Click LVT and SPC lock together and float, so they do not need adhesive.
Is glue down LVT better than click?
Each has its place. Glue down is thinner, very stable and suits pattern floors like herringbone. Click is quicker to fit over an existing floor.
Can I use tile adhesive for vinyl flooring?
No. Use an adhesive made for LVT or vinyl. Tile adhesive is made for ceramic and stone and will not hold vinyl properly.
Which adhesive should I choose?
Both we sell are made for LVT. Our adhesive guide explains the difference, including heat from underfloor heating and sunny rooms.
