Cotswold Brushed Bourbon Herringbone is a rich, deep warm brown oak supplied as blocks for herringbone laying. Dark oak herringbone is the classic English parquet floor — the look you find in Victorian hallways and old college libraries — and Bourbon is the closest tone in the range to it.
Real oak herringbone
Most herringbone sold today is printed vinyl or laminate. This is the real thing: a 14/3mm engineered oak board with a genuine 3mm oak wear layer over a multi-ply core, sandable and refinishable at least twice. The engineered construction matters more in herringbone than in plank — a pattern this tightly interlocked is unforgiving of seasonal movement, and solid oak moves.

Installation
Engineered herringbone is the most demanding floor we sell to fit. The pattern must be set out precisely from the centre line, blocks are handed, and a small error compounds visibly across the floor. Use an experienced wood-floor fitter. Acclimatise for 48–72 hours, leave expansion gaps at every perimeter, and allow around 15% for waste.

Bourbon is also available as a 125mm and 190mm plank, so herringbone and plank can be mixed across a property in a matched tone.
